Click the game once before typing. Save from the in-game toolbar: Save/Quit, then pick a slot.

Restore from file

Each time your saves change, a copy is kept here (the last 30, plus any you make yourself). You can download or restore any of them.

How saving works

Save from the toolbar's Save/Quit button while walking around town. You can't save inside a place, during a conversation or during a scene.
Autosave happens every in-game morning, in its own slot.
Load from the title screen.
Full screen: the button under the game. Press Esc, or the button again, to leave.
Settings (top right): volume, pausing when you switch away, graphics quality, backup reminders and more.
Saves are stored in this browser on this device. They aren't uploaded anywhere. Download a backup now and then, or link a save folder, so clearing your browser data can't erase them.

Playing on a Steam Deck

Open this page in Chrome or Firefox: in Desktop Mode, or in Game Mode after adding the browser to Steam. The touchscreen and trackpads work as the mouse.
Saves stay in that browser on the Deck. In Chrome you can link a save folder, for example in /home/deck/Documents.
For full controller support, an on-screen keyboard and no browser, use the native Steam Deck build. Your backups from this page import into it.
